Ollie's very first sight word. In ten short lessons children learn to see, say, read and write the word "at" — and read their first real sentence.
Ollie is somewhere. But where? Behind the tree? At the door? At the bus stop? In this course children meet their very first sight word — “at” — and learn to spot it everywhere: in a sentence, in a story, and out loud in their own voice.
“At” is one of the first hundred words a child needs in order to read anything at all. We take it slowly, with pictures, with Ollie, and with lots of repetition, so that the word stops being a puzzle and starts being a friend.
What your child will learn
- Recognise the word “at” instantly, without sounding it out
- Hear the short “a” sound and match it to the letters
- Read simple sentences that use “at”: Ollie is at the door.
- Say where something is, using “at” in your own words
