A short, practical module for the teachers and volunteers who run Ollie in their own classroom — how to get your course page found by the families who need it.
Ollie is used by teachers, volunteers and small schools who run their own reading groups. Most of them have a page, a blog or a small site of their own — and almost none of them have ever been shown how to make that page findable.
This module fixes that. It is six short, plain-English lessons on the parts of search that actually matter for a small non-profit: what to call your pages, how to describe them, and how a parent searching for “help my child read” ends up at your door instead of nowhere.
What you will learn
- Choose the words families actually type, not the words we wish they typed
- Write a page title and description that read like a human wrote them
- Structure a page so both a parent and a search engine can follow it
- Add your school or group to the maps and directories that already exist
- Check, in five minutes a month, whether any of it is working
